It was one of those “first-we-were-friends” stories where everyone knew we should be together before we did!
Things were obviously meant to be because, just two years after our first date, we found ourselves standing at the altar, committing our lives to each other. Fast forward 7 years, and we’re still celebrating love; every time a couple invites us to be part of their day, we're reminded of those moments in our own story, and we consider it such a privilege to celebrate those moments with our couples.
We each have a long history with art and creative pursuits. We've both been musicians since childhood (Jess actually studied music in college), and we are both passionate about visual creativity as well (obviously).
We're lifelong creatives, so when our very first "Jess & Doz" couple asked us to capture their wedding in 2019, we were thrilled to say "yes". From there, our love of beautiful storytelling through wedding photos and films eventually saw us shooting weddings all over the country...
From best friends
work friends
Getting to work with your best friend every day is extremely special, and as creatives, it’s amazing to have someone you trust to bounce ideas off. We love being together and injecting fun into whatever we do. A few years after we started our wedding business, we added an unpaid intern to our team — our perfect angel dog Bear. He never does any work, and he doesn't contribute to the business in any meaningful way, but he's really cute, so we let it slide.
We know how stressful planning a wedding can be, and we want our couples to be their most relaxed, laid-back selves so we can capture their day in the most authentic way. We're on your team and in your corner, not just on your wedding day but from the moment you choose us to document this chapter in your love story.
Creativity has always been central to my life. First, I found artistic expression through dance and music before finally discovering my love for photography and the power of visual storytelling. It wasn’t until a friend asked me to photograph her wedding that I realized that I wanted this to be my career.
Despite the years I've spent crafting my style as a photographer, my favorite thing about weddings is the connections I make with the people I meet. These aren’t just photographs, I am actually helping couples create a legacy – a visual record of the most important days in their lives together. These are the photos they'll post on their partner's birthday. They'll hang them on the walls of their home. They'll show their families and their friends. These are the photos their future children and grandchildren will know by heart (while laughing at the outdated clothes and hairstyles). I’m naturally an outgoing, social person who is fascinated by people. I want to make sure I capture all the little moments of pure emotion, humor and love – to do this, I like to build a relationship with each couple long before the wedding day itself. By getting to know people, I can capture the moments that I know will fill them with joy.
My twenty-year love affair with film started as a child. I was obsessed with movies, always asking my parents to buy the ‘two-disc collector’s edition’ of every DVD so I could watch all the behind-the-scenes to get the inside scoop on how the movie was made.
At age 10, my parents bought me a USB camera to create stop-motion Lego movies. This is when my passion for filmmaking really ignited, and soon I was writing and filming sketches with my friends. Then in High School, I got my first DSLR (a Canon T5i), and my freelance videography career began. I love storytelling in all its many forms – whether it’s told through books, movies, or music. I even have a podcast about pop culture and entertainment.
Aesthetically, I’m drawn to the laid-back sounds and visuals of 1970’s Laurel Canyon. But my creativity is here to serve you. I blend my skills and artistry in narrative storytelling to capture the essence of your wedding day in a way that is truly authentic and beautiful.
our photos & films
Obsess about everything we love. We don’t do things by halves, whether it’s finding the best coffee shops, reading books, or hiking trails – we’re all in, every time.
We live for exploring the great outdoors with our dog Bear, whether it's National Parks, hiking trails in DFW, or a remote cabin in Colorado. However, we live in the great (hot) state of Texas. So for the 49 weeks of the year where it's too hot to go outside, you can find us kicking back with a cocktail at a rooftop restaurant or curled up on the couch with Bear watching reality TV.
